Business Breakfast

We are excited to announce that our third annual Business Breakfast event will be held on Friday 28 July. This event brings together community and business leaders from throughout the Greater Wellington region who share and support our vision for people and communities empowered, transformed, and experiencing fullness of life. It gives us the opportunity to give thanks to some of our biggest supporters.

As well as hearing from our CEO about how The Mission’s community of supporters, staff, volunteers, agencies and clients become stronger together, guests will also hear from our highly regarded  guest keynote speaker. All attendees are treated to a complimentary breakfast and at the conclusion of the event, we officially present the 2016-17 Annual Review document within a folder for guests to take away, along with sponsor and support information.

Guest Speaker:  Judge Andrew Becroft, Children’s Commissioner

Judge Becroft

His Honour Judge Andrew Becroft was appointed a District Court Judge in 1996. In 2001, he became the Principal Youth Court Judge of New Zealand; a role that he held for many years, until he was appointed the Children’s Commissioner in 2016.

As Children’s Commissioner, Judge Becroft represents the 1.1 million people in Aotearoa New Zealand under the age of 18, who make up 24 percent of the total population. He advocates for their interests, ensures their rights are upheld, and helps them have a say on issues that affect them. Judge Becroft is strongly committed to a specialist approach to dealing with youth offenders and is an advocate for youth issues. We are delighted to host Judge Becroft and look forward to hearing from him at this event.
