At Kemp Home & Hospital, there are a large range of activities for residents. The activities programme is organised by the Diversional Therapist, two recreational assistants and volunteers. After admission, the Diversional Therapist will meet with the new resident to discuss and plan a programme of activities with them. Each person is able to choose to participate in a range of in-house or community activities, or to pursue individual interests.
Daily activities include cooking, exercise groups, indoor bowls, harakeke, flax weaving and pampering sessions, sing-a-long sessions, Maori and Pacific Island group activities, visiting canine friends, visiting schools, guest speakers and entertainers.
Kemp Home & Hospital’s complex includes a large recreation hall which is used for in-house and community activities.
