Visiting

Visitors to Kemp Home & Hospital are welcome at all times.  The local bus stops outside the front door and connects with the train service at Porirua station.  Current timetables are available at the reception desk.  There is also parking in the grounds and on the streets outside.  The staff hope that families/whanau and friends will feel at home and free to take part in whatever activities are on at the time they visit, or even to plan visits to take part in special activities.  Meals can be provided on request at a small cost.

Visitors are required to let staff know at the reception desk or in the rest home and hospital, when they come to visit.  This is to help us ensure the safety of all residents and visitors to the complex.  Visitors are also required to “sign in” and “sign out” of the Visitors Book. The outside doors are locked each evening at 5pm.  After this time, visitors may enter from Kura St.  This entrance has a doorbell and a security camera, which will alert staff to open the door for visitors.

In times of illness family/whanau members are able to stay with residents and provisions will be made for them.
