About the role

We are seeking an experienced registered social worker with solid experience of working alongside whanau and individuals with the clinical acumen to support people with complex needs. This role is focused on supporting individuals and whanau with complex mental health and addictions needs using creative and client-centred approaches that are led by trauma informed considerations. This is not a desk job – it’s a dynamic, client-led, community-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll use your skills to:

  • Provide high quality case management services tailored to client goals and needs
  • Deliver brief and crisis interventions in both planned and responsive situations
  • Apply creative and flexible strategies to address diverse and evolving client challenges
  • Maintain detailed client records and contribute to the continuous improvement of our mental health services
  • Advocate for clients and liaise with external healthcare providers as needed
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and professional development activities

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • A registered social worker with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience working with individuals and whanau experiencing complex mental health and substance use issues
  • Strong knowledge of harm reduction approaches and ability to tailor plans to individual needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with manuhiri from diverse backgrounds
  • A compassionate and client-centred approach, with a commitment to promoting client empowerment and recovery
  • Familiarity with the social services sector and experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and collaboration skills
