Why leave a gift in your will with us?

A gift to the Wellington City Mission will transform lives in the Greater Wellington region. 

Any gift, big or small, will help us continue to provide wrap-around support to those at risk or struggling in our community, as we grow and adapt our services. 

A gift in your Will helps us to:

  • Offer long-term support to people rebuilding their lives
  • Plan and deliver for generations to come as we grow and adapt our services as demand increases
  • Respond quickly in times of crisis

How to leave a gift in your Will

Before you make or update your will, we encourage you to talk to your loved ones. We also recommend getting independent legal advice through your lawyer or visiting one of the online Will platforms.

We partner with both Footprint and EveryWill to give you options when considering an online Will. Both are reputable platforms that are quick and easy to use.

There are different types of gift you can leave in your Will:

A percentage of your estate after all debts have been paid and other gifts made. By leaving this type of gift you won’t have to worry if your circumstances change.

You can specify the amount to be gifted.

A particular asset or item such as jewellery, shares and property.

Once you have made your donation through Internet Banking please email us (donations@wcm.org.nz) with your name, address and donation amount so we can send you a receipt as soon as possible.

Example of possible wording for your Will:

“I give to the Wellington City Mission (Anglican) Trust Board (CC21786), PO Box 7200, Newtown, Wellington 6242 the residue of my estate (or …….% of my estate, or the sum of $…….. ) for its general purposes and declare the receipt of the Chair other authorised officer shall be full and sufficient discharge for my trustees.”
