Family2Family is back for 2026!
We’re proud to be part of Family2Family, Foodstuffs’ annual food drive supporting whānau across Aotearoa.
Running from April 13 – May 10, this campaign is all about helping ensure local families have access to the food and essentials they need this winter.
With the support of New World stores and generous customers like you, donations go directly to supporting people doing it hard in your community.
Getting involved is simple:
1. Pick up a Family2Family bag
Head into your local New World and grab a Family2Family paper bag while you shop.
2. Fill it with foodbank-friendly items
Choose non-perishable items like canned food, pasta, rice, spreads, long-life milk and hygiene products. (See below for most-needed items.)
3. Donate in-store
Drop your filled bag at the collection point.
Short on time? You can also purchase a $20 pre-filled bag.
4. We'll take it from there
All donations are collected and distributed to our social supermarket, supporting whānau who need an extra hand this winter.
Why it matters:
For many families, winter brings extra pressure, higher costs, harder choices, and increased need for support.
Your donation helps provide more than just food. It helps create stability, dignity, and care for people in our community.
