Job Title: Community Support Worker
Location: Whakamaru (Oxford Terrace, Mt Cook) & Te Ō (Rolleston St, Mt Cook)

We’re looking for a Community Support Worker (CSW) to join our Community Support Services team. This is a meaningful role supporting manuhiri and their whānau through strength-based, empowerment-focused practice. You’ll walk alongside people navigating complex social issues, helping them build capability, confidence, and connection.
About the Role
As a Community Support Worker, you’ll be part of a supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) that includes addiction practitioners, social workers, and financial mentors.
Your work will include:
• Providing duty assessments, brief interventions, and practical support
• Holding a caseload and supporting manuhiri to work toward goals they’ve set
• Using a strength-based, empowerment approach to support individuals and whānau
• Collaborating closely with MDT members to ensure joined-up, holistic support
• Connecting people with community resources, networks, and pathways forward

About You
Our ideal candidate will bring:
• Experience supporting individuals or whānau with a range of needs and complexities
• A Level 4 Health & Wellbeing qualification (or working toward it), or relevant experience/qualification
• Strong understanding of community resources and support networks
• Ability to work confidently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Experience in mental health, addictions, or harm-reduction settings (advantageous)
• The ability to build trust, relationships, and collaborate across sectors
• A passionate, self-motivated, and people-focused approach

This role is to hold a caseload that could be across the two sites – Whakamaru – our community hub in the heart of Wellington, designed to transform how care, connection, and support are delivered. And Te Ō – Wellington’s single-site supported housing model providing wraparound support in a safe and stable environment.
