Work or volunteer for us

Our volunteers and staff are the heart of the Wellington City Mission.

If you have professional expertise to share or simply a desire to help, there’s a place for you here.

Whether you’re interested in a paid job opportunity, or a volunteer role, at the Wellington City Mission you can make a real difference in your community.

From providing specialist professional support, to making coffee and stocking shelves in our Social Supermarket, every role can change lives in the Greater Wellington region.

See below for current opportunities.

Christmas volunteers needed

This Christmas, the Wellington City Mission is seeking volunteers to help collect donations across the city. These roles support our work to ensure every Wellingtonian can enjoy a Christmas with dignity and care.

Shifts run on weekdays between 9am–2pm.

We’re looking for energetic volunteers to help pick up Star Boxes and other donated items from locations around the city.

This role involves regular heavy lifting and transporting items back to the Mission.

Weekdays, 9am–2pm.

We also need volunteers who can confidently drive a manual van to support our collection efforts. Volunteers must be 25 years or older.
