Celebrating 120 years! Empowering, transforming, and creating fullness of life for Wellingtonians who need support. ❤️

What we do. What we do.
Who we are. Who we are.
🎉 Only one week to go until we celebrate the fi 🎉 Only one week to go until we celebrate the first birthday of Whakamaru!

Join us for a fun day of community, kai, and celebration, featuring a pop-up Mission Store, delicious food from Fiji wala khana, @mrwhippynz, @donutexpress_nz, and a Rangatahi-ran sausage sizzle! 🌭🍩🍦

There’ll be live performances from Kapa Haka groups, a Thai dance group, the Faultline Chorus, and even a few familiar Mission faces taking the stage. Plus, fun for everyone with WellyPutt, a photo booth, and colouring for the kids.

Paula and Phil from our Service Delivery Team sat Paula and Phil from our Service Delivery Team sat down with @wellington_free to talk about Kua Mākona i Whakamaru, our crisis recovery café.

In this clip, they discuss why Kua Mākona i Whakamaru is an alternative to ED, offering a supportive space for people who are experiencing a crisis or acute mental distress.

Open 24/7 from Thursday to Monday, Kua Mākona i Whakamaru is always staffed by kaitiaki who provide empathy, understanding, and a sense of community. The space is a non-clinical environment, offering an alternative to traditional mental health services and easing some pressure on emergency systems.
