Regular Volunteering

We welcome volunteers. By sharing some of your time with us, you’re making a difference towards transforming the lives of people throughout the Wellington region.

Drop-in Centre

The Drop-in Centre is a safe place for our guests to meet and enjoy a meal. Our volunteers prepare, serve and clean up after breakfast and lunch. The role also includes interacting with guests and making them feel welcome. The shifts are from 9am – 2pm Monday to Thursday, and we prefer if volunteers can do at least one shift per week and commit to a time period of at least 6 months.

Foodbank

Some of our volunteers help each week by sorting the incoming donations of food and other goods, including fruit and vegetables. This is usually a time commitment of up to 2 hours once a week, between 10am – 2pm Monday to Friday.

Spaces are limited, so if your team would like to help please contact:

One-off Team Volunteering

Volunteer teams help sort donations of food and goods in our Foodbank during our Brown Paper Bag Appeal in June/July, and help sort food and gifts during our Christmas Star Appeal in December. Get in touch if you’re keen and willing to volunteer at either (or both) of these times:

Corporate Volunteering

Street Day

Each December we host our annual Street Day Collection, and workplace individuals and teams can volunteer as collectors. We would love your business to help collect donations this year. Collectors are needed all across the Wellington region including the Hutt Valley and Porirua.
